Keir Starmer

Asked whether the chant "from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free" was antisemitic, Starmer responded "yes". He added: "I take a strong view on this, and we've dealt with cases in my own party where people have used that expression and we've taken action against them."
Why It’s Conflation
The slogan means different things to different people. Some who chant it want Israel gone. Others mean equal rights across the whole territory. Khan said it depends on context. Starmer said it’s antisemitic, full stop, and that his party disciplines people for it. A blanket rule erases the difference.
What Actually Happened
London Mayor Sadiq Khan, asked days earlier whether the chant is antisemitic: "I don't think it's antisemitic. I think it's all about context."
