Why It’s Conflation
The pledge targets institutions tied to a government, and says so. It doesn’t target Israelis or Jews as people. The counter-letter called it antisemitic.
What Actually Happened
Film workers pledged not to work with Israeli film institutions they consider complicit in "genocide and apartheid." The pledge says signers may still work with Israeli individuals.
