"Public statements haranguing Israel and gestures toward recognition of a Palestinian state embolden extremists, fuel violence, and endanger Jewish life in France. In today's world, anti-Zionism is antisemitism—plain and simple."

Why It’s Conflation

Macron criticized Israel's war in Gaza and said France would recognize a Palestinian state. The U.S. ambassador to France, Charles Kushner, wrote to him that this endangers Jews and that "anti-Zionism is antisemitism—plain and simple." Criticizing a war and recognizing a state are foreign policy, not hatred of Jews.

What Actually Happened

Macron criticized Israel's conduct of the war in Gaza and announced that France would recognize a Palestinian state at the UN in September 2025.
