Why It’s Conflation
Recognizing a state is diplomacy. Attacks on Jews in France are crimes. Netanyahu told France’s president that the first causes the second. If that’s true, no country can recognize Palestine without being blamed for antisemitism.
What Actually Happened
Macron announced that France would recognize a Palestinian state at the UN. The French presidency answered Netanyahu that France "protects and will always protect its Jewish citizens."
