Why It’s Conflation
An Israeli newspaper published what Israeli soldiers told it. The government could deny it, and did. It also called the reporting a blood libel, the medieval lie about Jews, aimed at a Jewish newspaper in the Jewish state.
What Actually Happened
Haaretz reported that Israeli troops were ordered to open fire on Gazans seeking aid.
