Why It’s Conflation
A Cornell professor created a course on Gaza's humanitarian crisis and the region's history. Its description didn't mention the October 7 attack. A Cornell law professor called the description "antisemitism on steroids." A course description that leaves something out, or takes a side on the war, isn't hatred of Jews.
What Actually Happened
Professor Eric Cheyfitz created a Spring 2025 course called "Gaza, Indigeneity, Resistance" exploring the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the history of the region; its description did not mention the Hamas-led Oct. 7, 2023 attack on Israel.
