Why It’s Conflation
The students were protesting a war. Every charge against them was dropped. The governor called the protest antisemitic and said they should lose their place at school.
What Actually Happened
Students at the University of Texas at Austin held a protest against the war in Gaza. Police arrested 57 people. By Friday the county attorney had rejected all the criminal trespass charges.
