Heidi Gantwerk, President and CEO of the Jewish Federation of San Diego, said the resolution "is terribly misguided, and in implementation, it's antisemitic."

Why It’s Conflation

UC San Diego's student senate voted to ask the University of California to divest from weapons makers like Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon over the war in Gaza. The head of San Diego's Jewish Federation said that in practice the resolution is "antisemitic." A vote about where a university invests its money isn't hatred of Jews.

What Actually Happened

27 of the Associated Students Senate's 36 members voted to pass a resolution calling for the University of California to divest from companies including General Electric, Northrop Grumman, Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon over the war in Gaza.
