Why It’s Conflation
Ackman asked Harvard to release the names of students whose groups signed a letter about October 7, so that companies wouldn’t hire them. The letter was widely condemned. It was still a political statement. Calling the signers racists and trying to make them unemployable goes well past criticizing what they wrote.
What Actually Happened
Ackman called on Harvard to release the names of students in groups that signed the Oct. 7 letter, so CEOs would not "inadvertently" hire them. Later: "None of them will hire racist students or those that support terrorists."
