Why It’s Conflation
Portman is Jewish and Israeli-born. She declined to share a stage with one politician and said so. A cabinet minister said that borders on antisemitism.
What Actually Happened
Portman: "I chose not to attend because I did not want to appear as endorsing Benjamin Netanyahu, who was to be giving a speech at the ceremony."
