"When there is such a double standard, when the world treats everybody one way and the Jew or the Jewish state another way, there's only one word for it: anti-Semitism! Let us call out the BDS movement for what it is." And: "Whether they know it or not, they are actively participating in an anti-Semitic movement."
Why It’s Conflation
A boycott of a country is a political tactic. Schumer said everyone who joins this one is taking part in antisemitism, "whether they know it or not." That covers people whose only goal is to end the occupation.
What Actually Happened
BDS is the campaign for boycotts, divestment and sanctions against Israel.
